Legends of Horror features two full-length movies: Scared to Death (1947) and The Terror (1963). Scared to Death features horror legend Bela Lugosi in his only color film. In The Terror, perhaps the biggest name ever in horror films, Boris Karloff performs with a young Jack Nicholson. Both of these films have earned the right to be part of an ongoing Halloween tradition.
Silent Horror Classics contains two more feature films: The Phantom of the Opera (1925) and Nosferatu (1922). The first is considered by many to be the greatest silent horror film ever made, and the second is undoubtedly the best silent vampire film ever made. The Phantom, starring Lon Chaney, is a lavish production with truly remarkable special effects for its time. Nosferatu was an instant success and enduring classic—watch it once and you'll know why. Both of these feature films deserve a special place in any DVD library.
